Our road culture is brash, rough and unsafe. It seems that cars can blow the horn and push every pedestrian around. It is the hardest for our seniors. One knock and our whole life can change.
All our trucks in India carry the words "Blow Horn" on their backs. It encourages drivers to honk instead of using the brake and using patience.
The result? India's roads are the noisiest on earth. We have the highest road deaths on earth. Senior citizens are stuck in their home and find it hard to move about their cities.
Horn Free India is asking the government to remove "Blow Horn" from trucks. Instead use messages of peace and safety: Stop Horn, No Horn, or Om Shanti.

Respected Shri Gadkariji,
I am writing to respectfully request that the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways consider replacing the "Blow Horn" and "Horn Please" signage on commercial vehicles with safer alternatives such as Stop Horn, No Horn, or Om Shanti.
Excessive honking is a daily reality on our roads. It affects our health, our ability to walk, and the peace of our neighbourhoods. We are the land of “Om Shanti”. Let us not be the land of “Blow Horn”. We prefer Om Shanti to Blow Horn.
In 2015, Maharashtra banned "Horn OK Please". I hope the rest of India can follow.
